The “Jiuru Community” is a beautiful ecological landscape in Nangang, but the community has a large proportion of low-income and middle-income households, a huge gap between the rich and the poor, and is faced with the dilemma of intergenerational education and lack of resources. This is a standard community that is “neither urban nor rural.” Community leaders and social workers called on community residents to “lock up the stream and protect fisheries”, protect their beautiful homes through ecological conservation, and offer local and diversified courses for the children, hoping to help them break out of their disadvantaged situation and change the children's lives through education.

On September 28, 2021, CoAsia visited this loving community. On the day of the visit, the community activity center was holding a community elderly incense candle DIY activity, and then provided group meals for the community elders to eat. We sponsored 54 kg of Xizhou Shangshui rice that includes white, black, and brown rice, local jade pouch honey, mushroom sauce, etc. We hope that through community connection and feedback, we can do our best to help disadvantaged families and care for the most disadvantaged persons in society so that society can be more warm and caring.
